Program Structure
- 8-12 artists/designers will be selected to participate.
- In addition to economy travel reimbursement, an artist’s stipend of $3,500 will be awarded to each invitee.
- Collaborating teams are welcome to apply but the team leader is responsible for all aspects of participation, including allocation of the artist’s stipend.
- Private living quarters, a meals program and limited local transportation services are provided during the residency.
- Workshop space and a selection of tools, equipment and materials are readily available.
- The Biennale weekend is Saturday, September 21 (VIP preview trail walk) and Sunday, September 22, 2019 (public exhibition). Program participants are expected to be in attendance and engaged in the festivities.
- Ineligible are artists who participated in the 2017 and 2015 Site-Responsive Art Programs.
- Applications are processed online through SlideRoom. The application portal will be accepting project proposals from January 31 until midnight (EST) on February 28, 2019.
- A $20 application fee is required to defray the considerable costs associated with the selection/curatorial process.
