I-Park’s 2019 Site-Responsive Art Residency & Biennale

Application Deadline: February 28

I-Park is pleased to announce that it is hosting its 2019 Site-Responsive Art Residency & Biennale, seventh in the series.

The residency will be devoted exclusively to the artists and designers invited to create new works for the exhibition. I-Park views site-responsive art as a multi-disciplinary, multi-sensory field – at its most impactful when the installations and performances are developed and experienced in-situ. The term “site-responsive” is construed broadly to encompass the various aspects of the project site: natural, built, social – and sensitive to the various dimensions of time. While all the works will be ephemeral, it is hoped that the physical installations will be reasonably intact for 60 – 90 days, and it is required that artists/designers creating time-based works (video, performance, sound art) will leave behind archival documentation so that the public can experience these pieces during subsequent viewings.

Supported disciplines include

  • Site-Responsive Sculpture/Installation
  • Landscape/Garden/Ecological Design
  • Sound Art
  • Performance Art
  • Visual Arts (Other)
  • Architecture
  • Language Arts
  • New, Experimental Media
