I-Park’s 2019 Site-Responsive Art Residency & Biennale | I-Park Foundation, Inc.

I-Park’s 2019 Site-Responsive Art Residency & Biennale

Thanks for your applications to our
September Site-Responsive Art Residency & Biennale!
We’ll be back in touch with you once the selection process has been completed. Residency awards will announced between April 15 and April 30.
The residency will be devoted exclusively to the artists and designers invited to create new works for the exhibition. I-Park views site-responsive art as a multi-disciplinary, multi-sensory field – at its most impactful when the installations and performances are developed and experienced in-situ. The term “site-responsive” is construed broadly to encompass the various aspects of the project site: natural, built, social – and sensitive to the various dimensions of time. While all the works will be ephemeral, it is hoped that the physical installations will be reasonably intact for 60 – 90 days, and it is required that artists/designers creating time-based works (video, performance, sound art) will leave behind archival documentation so that the public can experience these pieces during subsequent viewings.

Supported disciplines include

  • Site-Responsive Sculpture/Installation
  • Landscape/Garden/Ecological Design
  • Sound Art
  • Performance Art
  • Visual Arts (Other)
  • Architecture
  • Language Arts
  • New, Experimental Media
  • Inter-Disciplinary, Multi-Disciplinary Practice

  • In addition to economy travel reimbursement, an artist’s stipend of $3,500 will be awarded to each invitee.
