Danielle Adair is an artist born in northern Michigan and currently based in Los Angeles, California. She earned a BA from The University of Chicago (’03), and an MFA in Visual Arts and in Writing  from California Institute of the Arts (’07). She is the recipient of The Louis Sudler Prize in the Performing and Creative Arts (Chicago, IL) and of I-Park Foundation (USA) and Digital Arts Studios (UK) Residencies. Adair is currently at work on First Assignment, a project for which she has embedded with US Forces stationed in Afghanistan, and has created the artist book From JBAD: Lessons Learned (Les Figues Press, 2009). Her video work has screened internationally, and she often performs alongside her moving image work in gallery and festival contexts.
