| Special 2012 Artists in Residence Program for Latin American Visual Artists Application Deadline: April 29, 2012 I-Park is pleased to announce its continuing collaboration with the New London (Connecticut) based Latin American community arts organization, Expressiones, in establishing two reserved residency sessions for Latin American artists in 2012. Visual artists from among the following countries are invited to apply for available 2012 residency slots under this program: Argentina Bolivia Chile Colombia Costa Rica Cuba Ecuador Honduras Mexico Panama Paraguay Peru Uruguay Venezuela Expressiones will be the curator, administrator and coordinator of this program. Of the two accepted artists for 2012, the one receiving the highest jury score will receive a grant of $750 to help defray the cost of travel to the United States. Also, for 2012, each of the two selected visual artists will be offered a gallery show and artist’s presentation at the Expressiones Cultural Center in New London at some point during their residency session. Please note the following restrictions for this program: • Artists must have their primary residency address in one of the above countries. • Only artists working in the field of visual arts are eligible for this program. This category is for work where the visual imagery is essentially static: sculpture, two-dimensional work, photography, environmental art, installation and mixed media. • One of the selected Expressiones artists will be invited to participate in I-Park’s October session and the other in November. Refer to the 2012 Calendar for exact dates.
