Open Studios Reading: Rich Orloff

Rich Orloff has written twelve award-winning full-length plays (mostly comedies) plus over sixty short comedies. In 2008, his comedy FUNNY AS A CRUTCH was chosen as a Critic’s Pick by the New York Times and Back Stage. In 2009, his comedy BIG BOYS had a trio of regional theater productions in Cleveland, Charlotte and Sacramento. 2010 productions include A CAPITAL AFFAIR in Vienna and ROMANTIC FOOLS in Belgrade. Rich’s short plays have been appeared five times in the annual Best American Short Plays anthology, twice in Best Ten-Minute Plays, and in The Bedford Introduction to Literature and the Chinese anthology Contemporary American Short Plays. Playscripts has published eight collections of his short plays, resulting in over 600 productions on six continents (and a staged reading in Antarctica). His comedy SKIN DEEP (winner, Larry Corse Playwriting Prize) will premiere in New York in October.
