September OPEN Trails Day
September 2 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Buy TicketsI-Park is pleased to welcome the public for an OPEN Trails event, on Saturday, September 2, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Visitors will be given a trail map and are invited including newly installed works by Nate Byrne, Parastoo Ahoon, Anya Klepikov and Julie Peppito.
At the welcome table, you will be given a trail map and are invited to explore the grounds in one of two ways. You can take a curated walk which takes about forty-five minutes or follow your sense of adventure with your trusty map. See the in-progress Pollinator Garden and enjoy the newly re-opened Boardwalk Trail. We are grateful to Bernie Gillis and Gary Wilson for volunteering their time and energy to repairing the boardwalk, and to Carm Branicforte, our groundskeeper for helping them complete the project.
You’re welcome to bring a picnic lunch and unplug in this natural haven. And, for our plein-air friends, bring your easel, pick a spot and paint the beautiful landscape.
The event is FREE and family friendly. We’ll have a scavenger hunt for all the kiddos with prizes. Outdoor enthusiasts of all ages are welcome, however reservations in advance are RECOMMENDED, though you’re welcome to sign-in at the Welcome Table. A suggested $10 donation for adults is welcome and would be helpful in the ongoing maintenance of our trails. For additional information, write events@i-park.org or call 860-873-2468.
Due to the fragility of the artworks and the natural features at I-Park, pets are not permitted on the I-Park grounds.
Important: You will be agreeing to our Visitor Code of Conduct and Photo Release when you register for Open Trails.
